The biennial football tournament for nations affiliated to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) was staged at various venues across Ghana in January and February, and wrapped up in the Ghanaian capital Accra with a thrilling clash between defending champions Egypt and four-time winners Cameroon. Access Direct online store provides low cost access control solution for SMEs and professional security installers

Access Direct has launched its new online store selling access control systems for smaller businesses and professional security installers. The site will be selling systems that can be installed easily by in-house IT departments, or by local specialist installers, where there are one or two doors that need to be secured. Access Direct will be supplying the HID Edge solution which includes embedded software enabling administrators to set up users from their desktop and to define the time limitations when each user may go through a door. The system provides detailed reporting of who went through the door at what time, it notes when a door was left open or forced and can be linked to other systems, such as CCTV systems. In addition, the system uses Power over Ethernet (PoE), so as well as utilising the existing CAT 5 Ethernet infrastructure rather than requiring its own cabling, the Edge also takes power from the Ethernet. Western Virginia Water Authority adopts NetVu Connected CCTV solution

Since the events of 9/11, water authorities across the US have been duty-bound to re-examine whether critical assets, such as dams, reservoirs, and water treatment facilities, are secure against threats. The US-based Western Virginia Water Authority, which provides a water service to 155,000 customers in Roanoke and Roanoke County, has adopted a NetVu Connected CCTV solution based around Dedicated Micros surveillance technology.
