Controlware wins IFSEC Security Industry Award for IP CCTV network at St Pancras International

Specialist IP CCTV supplier and value-added distributor Controlware Communications Systems has won the award for Best Project at the IFSEC Security Industry Awards. Having also won the same award last year this represents a unique double for Controlware. A panel of independent industry experts, who were specifically looking for innovative solutions, selected the IP CCTV network at St Pancras International as the Best Project for 2008. The awards were presented during the annual IFSEC opening night party held at the Motorcycle museum, Birmingham. The development of the IP CCTV network at St Pancras International was part of the station’s refurbishment for the High Speed 1 (HS1), the UK’s biggest ever construction project, formally known as the Channel Tunnel Rail Link (CTRL). Qeeps connects 60 cameras at Newcastle City Council to monitor key trunk roads

Newcastle City Council is the first UK customer to deploy the Qeeps service as part of their city wide traffic management system in order to monitor live traffic cameras via authorised GPRS enabled mobile phones. Qeeps (pronounced keeps) is a hosted service allowing users to connect remotely to any Digital Video Recorder (DVR) via IP to receive both real-time and recorded video footage on any mobile device. The service is typically used in conjunction with CCTV cameras but any connected source can be viewed using Qeeps. The system was created by Vemotion Interactive Limited after a several years of technical development to create software interfaces for all the major DVR manufacturers. IndigoVision provides CCTV surveillance for integrated security system for the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality

IndigoVision’s complete end-to-end IP Video system is providing the CCTV surveillance for an impressive integrated security system for the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality located in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. The metro area is home to over 1.3 million people, covers an area of 770 square miles and includes the towns of Uitenhage and Despatch, together with Port Elizabeth which will be a host city for the 2010 Soccer World Cup. The IP-CCTV system, which was supplied by Norbain South Africa, is part of an integrated security system that includes access control, intruder detection, perimeter security and fire detection all of which were designed and installed by Afrisec. Swann Security Partners with Crimestoppers

Swann Security® has announced it is teaming up with the UK crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers. In an effort to support communities across the UK, Swann Security will support the independent charity in their vision to fight crime. Crimestoppers is an independent charity dedicated to solving crimes and taking criminals off the streets. Around 17 people are arrested and charged every day as a result of information given to Crimestoppers. One person every 5 days is charged with murder, as a result of information given to Crimestoppers. Since Crimestoppers began in 1988, it has received almost 950,000 calls with useful information, resulting in over 80,000 arrests and charges.
