Severe weather highlights the benefits of remote monitoring over more traditional security methods
posted on 10/12/2010
With large portions of the country covered in snow and some areas still inaccessible at the time of writing, many premises are being left unsecured for large periods of time because security guards have not been able to travel to and from locations. The recent cold snap has again illustrated the advantages of remote monitoring over more traditional security methods. The inevitable travel chaos and road closures continue to exacerbate the situation, which has led to some clients looking for alternative security solutions. One of the many beauties of remote monitoring (and its associated services), is that it is not governed or hampered by the weather. In fact, all of Visual’s services are provided from their purpose-built secure Control Room in Cheshire. With a portfolio which includes everything from CCTV/Alarm monitoring, through to Vehicle Tracking and Access Control, Visual staff can secure and manage premises across the UK from the safety of their British Standard facility. “... Korenix's New JetNet 3810GPoE Switch ensures High Bandwidth Video Surveillance inside Transportation Systems
posted on 10/12/2010
Korenix JetNet 3810G is a PoE switch designed with eight 12~24V Vehicle PoE ports and 2 Gigabit uplink ports for providing high speed video transmission in transit surveillance applications. The PoE ports of the switch support Korenix patented 12~24V PoE booster technology, therefore allowing users to convert the DC12~24V power from a vehicle battery to DC 48V, offering up to 65W power to 802.3af compliant devices. Other than the 8 PoE ports which provide easy installation and reduce networking costs, users can greatly benefit from the integrated 2 Gigabit ports for fluently by-passing the megapixel video images and other high bandwidth data to the core device in the control center. To ensure the high quality of the transmitted data, JetNet 3810G series PoE switches support the QoS video precedence transmission, which allows prioritizing data transfer, as a result offering a real-time video surveillance while preventing loss of images. For easier network maintenance and enhanced t... [more]
