COMPACT EYE OEM engine is the ultimate security solution for surveillance and protection of sensitive sites
posted on 20/07/2010

Shutterless technology allows uncooled IR engines and cameras to operate continuously without the need for a mechanical shutter for NUC (Non Uniformity Correction) operations. By eliminating the need for a shutter, these engines are constantly open, experiencing no image freezes - critical to applications such as missile heads and missile warning systems. Shutterless engines are also smaller and lighter than conventional engines, operate silently, have a faster start up time, consume less power, possess a lower current draw, and have better MTBF. A new, shutterless version of Premier Electronics' Compact Eye™, ultra compact, low powered is now available. It is based on a 384 x 288, uncooled ASi 8-14µ micro bolometer detector with a 25-micron pitch. The engine is tuned to long wave infrared, 8-14μm, with less than 0.060°c sensitivity. The unit is available with or without NUC shutter or as an open frame camera. It includes powerful proprietary algorithms that have been full... [more]

Geutebruck equipment selected for International Atomic Energy Agency's training center in Russia
posted on 15/07/2010

Last year, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) upgraded facilities at the International Special Training Center in Obninsk in the Russian Federation. This centre is where operators and inspectors of physical protection systems at nuclear facilities all over the former Soviet Union and other IAEA member states receive practical training and where newly developed equipment is tested and approved for use in the Russian nuclear industry. To enable training on combating attack, sabotage and theft of nuclear materials to be as realistic as possible, the centre now has a range of security systems typical of current nuclear installations. Key recent acquisitions included Geutebruck’s re_porter and GeViScope video security platforms. These have been integrated with a large number of other third party systems, including person and vehicle access control systems and a variety of different intruder and perimeter detection facilities, to simulate the complex systems used in nuclear plant... DefenCell Profile 300 completesvehicle crash tests to meet the PAS68 protection standards
posted on 15/07/2010

PAS 68 is a BSI classification for vehicle security barriers, and provides a comparative method of assessing the performance of any system designed to stop vehicles. J&S Franklins DefenCell Profile 300 has recently successfully completed a number of vehicle crash tests to meet the PAS68 protection standards. Profile 300 has expanded upon the initial products strengths and versatility to emerge as a perfect solution to offering inconspicuous protection of public buildings, perimeter security, and HVM protection. It is made from strong geotextile materials, which when layered in construction can be used to build barriers, berms or bunds. Due to the structure of Profile300, and its ease of installation, it is ideally suited for use in environmentally, and visually sensitive locations, where it can be easily grassed or planted, and quickly blends into the surroundings, whilst still providing a proven, superior, substantial protection from terrorist attack and environmental threats. ... New FLIR D-Series outdoor dome Multi-Sensor thermal imaging cameras can seamlessly be integrated in new or existing TCP IP networks
posted on 13/07/2010

Thermal imaging cameras are becoming more and more popular for security and surveillance applications. Thermal imaging is the use of cameras constructed with specialty sensors that “see” thermal energy emitted from an object. Thermal, or infrared energy, is light that is not visible to the human eye because its wavelength is too long to be detected. It’s the part of the electromagnetic spectrum that we perceive as heat. Infrared allows us to see what our eyes can not. Thermal imaging cameras produce images of invisible infrared or “heat” radiation. Based on temperature differences between objects, thermal imaging produces a clear image. In contrast with other technologies, such as light amplification, thermal imaging needs no light whatsoever to produce an image on which the smallest of details can be seen. Thermal imaging provides full visibility irrespective of the prevailing light level and weather conditions. It can see in total darkness, in the darkest of nights, through fog, in the... [more]

Delta crash gates are available with 14 different decors
posted on 09/07/2010

Delta Scientific has announced that their crash gates withstand impacts as high as a 15,000 lb (66.7 kN) vehicle striking at 50 MPH (80 KPH) and suffer no significant damage - and they look good too. Now, architects and contractors can choose from sliding and swing crash-tested gates in 14 different decors – green landscaping, screen printed glass, steel screen, back-painted glass, laser cut steel in two versions, panelized colored acrylic, panelized stone, panelized concrete, cast stone, wood and stone, panelized wood and wood screen. “Many organizations are very concerned about the aesthetics of their landscaping and asked us to provide other looks beyond slats and bars,” reports David Dickinson, Delta Scientific senior vice president. “Now, safety engineers can meet their security and aesthetic requirements with gates that have been tested in the field and trials for more than 25 years. In addition to 14 different decors, Delta gates are available with a variety of options to suit ... [more]
