Magal Security Systems expands in Brazil

Magal Security Systems, Ltd. has announced a new strategic partnership in Brazil. The new strategic partnership, Senstar-Stellar Sistemas de Segurança Ltda., will provide local consultants and integrators with complete perimeter solutions, technical support and a local service center. The new Brazil based operations, located in São Paulo, will be headed by Mr. Eduardo Fazzio, formerly the Magal Group's Brazilian master dealer. Norbain sole distributor for ADPRO digital video security systems

Xtralis (formerly Vision Fire & Security) has chosen Norbain as the sole distribution route to market for the UK & Ireland. Xtralis, under new Private Equity ownership, is changing its route to market to accelerate growth of ADPRO solutions. The ADPRO brand is renowned for digital video security systems and solutions based on high quality standards and latest technology, with advanced integration capabilities. As part of its strategy to rationalise the distribution route to market, Xtralis will be increasing assistance to Norbain in the key areas of marketing, technical support and ADPRO applications engineering for larger systems. Precise Biometrics increases its holding in Smart Unicorn Solutions to strengthen its position in the Chinese market

Precise Biometrics AB is increasing its holding in the previously partly owned company Smart Unicorn Solutions (SUS) to 38 per cent. This will enable Precise Biometrics to further strengthen its position in the Chinese market. In the first quarter of 2006, Precise Biometrics embarked upon a joint venture with Smart Unicorn Group in Shanghai in China. The agreement gave Precise Biometrics a 30 per cent holding in the jointly owned company Smart Unicorn Solutions (SUS). The initial acquisition was made to meet the demands of the Chinese market for security solutions using biometrics. Bringing the transaction to final completion suffered delays and last year the project was written down by almost SEK 25 million. Now, Precise Biometrics, through an issue of 4,000,000 shares, is increasing its holding in Smart Unicorn Solutions by an additional 8 per cent. GE Security designs remote monitoring and alert system for Securitas alarms

Securitas wanted to offer their existing and future customers remote monitoring of their Alarm systems, so they approached GE Security to develop a new system with this capability. As GE’s lead partner for this technology, they defined the specifications together for a system which would include a key module to allow the monitoring of buildings in remote areas that lacked fixed-line telephone connection. The system would be able to send alarm alerts and video alerts from remote sites, speeding up response times and reducing unnecessary responses to false alarms from more than 10,000 network installations spread throughout Scandinavia and Europe. For this, GE Security needed to develop a GSM and GPRS reporting module. SonicWALL acquires SSL VPN remote access company Aventail

SonicWALL, Inc. has announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Aventail Corporation. Aventail is a Seattle-based, privately-held provider of SSL VPN remote access solutions, for approximately $25 million in cash. The transaction is expected to close in July, 2007 and is subject to customary conditions. SonicWALL expects that there will be no impact from the transaction to its financial performance in the second quarter of 2007 and reaffirms its revenue guidance of $45 - $47 million. This move enables SonicWALL to better meet the needs of a broader set of customers by combining the two companies’ complementary SSL VPN offerings.
