posted on 19/09/2006
The Rimax Staff On Time Palm Scan is a palm reader which uniquely identifies users by their palm print, rather than the geometry of their hand. Exclusive UK distributor Databac Group will demonstrate Palm Scan in access control and time and attendance applications at Biometrics 2006. The contactless reader can be wall-mounted behind a window, making it both weather- and vandal-proof, as well as 100% hygienic. The full range of Staff On Time fingerprint systems will also be on display. These solutions put biometric technology within reach of businesses of all sizes. During the event, Databac will show how biometric templates can be captured and encoded onto smart cards, using a Datacard SP series printer and its popular Dataimage ID software. This simple method enables the personalization of credentials to work with biometric systems: fingerprints or palm prints are verified against the template held on... [more]
