Chubb's integrated fire and security system protects the Welsh Assembly
posted on 20/09/2010
The £27 million state-of-the-art building at Llandudno Junction in North Wales is among the greenest public buildings in Wales, accommodating over 500 civil servants and a range of support agencies. Members of the Welsh Assembly can meet safe in the knowledge that their building is fully protected thanks to a complete fire and security system designed and installed by Chubb. The M&E consultant selected Chubb based on its competitive tender and previous track record. The project requires installation of a fully networked multi panel fire alarm system, Public Address/Voice Alarm (PAVA) technology and disabled refuge. A spokesman explains: “Government buildings are particularly prone to attempted security breaches, so a sophisticated solution to protect the staff, building and contents was vital to the design,” he says. “To have both the fire and security systems installed by the same company - with the inherent experience and expertise of its engineers - was a major advantage.” ... TOA voice alarm system installed at the Brussels Expo
posted on 10/08/2010
Built for the World Expo of 1958 and still retaining all the glamour, elegance and modernity of that era, the 12 halls of the Brussels Expo play host to a string of major exhibitions and events every year, among them the industry show Batibouw, the farming event Agribex, and the ICT technology forum. Voice alarm products from TOA are at the heart of a new paging, evacuation and BGM system installed at the Brussels Expo, one of Europe’s most prestigious conference and exhibition venues. In 2008, the management of Brussels Expo approached Prévost System Integration (PSI) to design, supply and install a PA/VA and BGM system to replace the antiquated equipment that had previously been in use. Walter Geerts, Director at PSI, takes up the story: “The first phase of the project comprised renewing all the central equipment racks, for which we offered a system based around TOA’s SX-2100. In total there are six SX-2100 input modules and six SX-2100 output modules, together with a series of... [more]

Vancouver Island’s leading fashion focused shopping destination has invested in an IndigoVision integrated IP Video security system, in what is believed to be the first mall in Canada to deploy a surveillance solution with 100% IP cameras. The 93-camera system, which covers the public areas inside the mall as well as the car parks and surrounding areas, was designed and installed by IndigoVision’s Approved Partner Laser Star Systems Ltd in partnership with Hoffman & Company Security Management Consultants Inc. When planning for the new surveillance system the shopping centre realised that an IP networked solution was the future of video security and ensured budget was made available for IT projects that would support the required network infrastructure.
