The company PT Pelabuhan Indonesia 1 specializes in handling containers for international and domestic transportation in many ports in Indonesia. Due to harsh seaside conditions amidst facilities like container cranes and hypermodern cranes, they require top-class security equipment to ensure safety of employees, while enduring the extreme conditions there. Marine Electronics Ltd is launching its competitively priced Pin-Point diver detection sonar at the Oceanology Exhibition (Stand No E525, London ExCeL, March 13-15). The new system incorporates some of the company’s latest technology to provide a real-time 3D view of the area under surveillance. The new system is consequently expected to attract the interest of military users and security organisations seeking to control access to harbours and water-side installations. Optex detectors installed on solar farm

The largest solar panel farm accredited by the UK’s electricity supplier regulator is being protected by a security system that includes a number of award-winning REDSCAN laser detectors from Optex. Based in Wales, the solar farm consists of 22,500 panels and is built on a 32-acre site across four fields near Usk in Monmouthshire. The farm will generate enough electricity to power 2,500 homes, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, feeding power into the national grid and saving at least 60,792 tons of CO2 emissions over 25 years by comparison with fossil fuels. The site is physically protected by just a low chain-link fence to keep out sheep and passing ramblers. Multilayered PIDS for two high security prisons in Latin America delivered by Senstar

Senstar Corporation began the delivery of a multilayered Perimeter Intrusion Detection System (PIDS) for two new maximum security prisons in Latin America. The core solution for both prisons is built around Senstar's sensors: • IntelliFiber fence mounted fiber-optic sensors; • Omnitrax buried cable as a covert detection layer between fences; • μltraWave microwave sensor as a virtual fence and gap filler, and; • Several third party hybrid MW/IR detectors. UK's largest solar farm trusts Unipart Security and Westronics ' security solutions

The UK’s largest UK solar farm has placed its trust in Unipart Security Solutions’ Monitoring & Response Centre to keep watch over a security system designed to deter and detect intruders who might consider entering the facility containing valuable high tech solar panels. Westmill Solar Farm is located in a remote location on the outskirts of Swindon. In addition to the cost of replacing solar panels, the ability to provide power for the National Grid could be severely affected if acts of theft or malicious damage were to occur. A security solution was therefore required which would allow mobile patrols to be rapidly directed to the precise location of any incident.
