Axis network cameras cut theft, vandalism and tighten security at Witchford Village College

Network cameras from Axis Communications have been installed by Ely Telecom, working alongside Education ICT’s server engineers, to deliver a modern IP-Surveillance solution at Witchford Village College, near Ely. This village secondary school, which serves 900 11 to 16 year olds in this predominantly rural area, originally installed an analogue-based CCTV system covering the external areas around school buildings. However Witchford Village College was finding that this CCTV system was not preventing theft of high value information technology (IT) equipment inside school buildings. The school now has more than £250,000 of IT equipment as well as a large amount of science and music equipment which has been targeted in the past. JVC provides Treloar College with IP security cameras and security management software

Treloar College, a specialist college for disabled students based in the outskirts of Alton in Hampshire, provides education, care, therapy, medical support and independence training to young people aged 16 and over with physical disabilities from all over the UK and overseas. JVC Professional Europe have provided Treloar College with IP security cameras and security management software for a comprehensive IP security system. The project is supported by the City Livery Company of Security Professionals, as well as by JVC. The security system is designed to be entirely future-proof and additional security cameras can be added to the system as and when needed and depending on how the requirements of students attending the college changes. Vigilant wins IP video surveillance and security contract for US gaming corporation

Vigilant Technology Limited has won an agreement to be the sole supplier to a gaming corporation which currently has six casinos in the USA amounting to approximately US$4 million over the next three years. The contract includes design, installation and maintenance of IP video surveillance & security systems for three years in addition to existing and future casino locations throughout North America, including the flagship property in Las Vegas and a new casino/resort to be constructed in the North East, which is projected to be the largest in the state. Targeted for telemetry, Internet access and mobile computing applications, the rugged ZyWAN offers a secure connection across GSM/GPRS/3G, CDMA mobile data networks. Toys ‘R’ Us switches to Iris intruder and personal attack alarm monitoring

Toys ‘R’ Us is switching the intruder and personal attack alarm monitoring for its total UK estate to Chiron Technology’s Iris system. Adoption of the Iris technology means Toys ‘R’ Us will take advantage of Chiron’s secure IP-based dual-path alarm signalling and should reduce its alarm monitoring bill by around 70% compared with its previous use of existing line protection systems and back-up. The chain has chosen to use the Iris 840 dual-path IP/GPRS signalling system to provide communications between its 73 UK stores and its alarm receiving centre, provided by contract management and monitoring provider SSS Management Services. SSS' NSI-approved ARC, which is accredited to BS5979 and BSEN ISO 9002, includes secure digital-based TCP/IP communications for monitoring of intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and other management systems.
