SALTO Systems' new AMOK electronic escutcheons ensure schools can be quickly locked down during an emergency
posted on 27/07/2011

SALTO Systems' new AMOK electronic escutcheons ensure schools, colleges and universities are a secure, safe place to learn by enabling buildings and facilities to be quickly locked down during a security or other emergency event. In such a situation it could be safer for students and staff to remain in a classroom, securely locked in until the emergency is over, so SALTO AMOK escutcheons enable authorised users to put the electronic locks into a standalone lock down mode, securing the room until help or the emergency services arrive on scene. Specifically designed for use in the educational environment and compatible with almost any type of door, SALTO AMOK electronic escutcheons have a built in card reader on the inner escutcheon. This inner reader enables users to activate the AMOK function mode in order to lock down the room quickly. Only authorised users with AMOK privileges on their access plan can activate it. The AMOK function mode is initially configured on a user’s card ac... [more]

Kings Security Systems' electronic security solution creates a safe and secure environment for Leeds-based dance facility
posted on 19/07/2011

The Northern Ballet and Phoenix Dance's new purpose built home has been shortlisted for the 2011 Civic Building of the Year award. The building has been developed by Wates Construction and provides an important addition to the Leeds city landscape and the established cultural community. The site is located on a prominent site near the WY Playhouse, BBC and Leeds College of Music. After a rigorous tender process pitched against their major competitors, Kings Security Systems were selected by electrical contractors H&C Moore, to partner them on the installation of the electronic security solutions for the new £12m home of the two Leeds-based arts organisations. Due to the design of the building and its objective of creating a world-class dance facility, the security solutions Kings provided had to be sympathetic to the architecture so as not to distract from the beauty and creativity of the work taking place inside. Meticulous attention to detail was required for the perfect security... [more]

Codelocks' first electronic push-button door lock designed specifically for glass doors gives the user a convenient access control solution without the use of keys. The glass door lock fits existing Rondo type glass door preparations. Each lock has a latch and full size lever handles. “We developed this product as a direct response to customer demand. Organisations spend a lot of money fitting out their buildings with stylish glass interiors, but still want to deter unauthorised entry in certain areas,” explained Grant Macdonald, Managing Director, Codelocks. “Now they don’t need to compromise on style over functionality, as our new lock acts as a convenient standalone solution to access control and doesn’t look out of place in smart modern buildings.” The list price is £350 and the locks are available to orde...
