In less than six months, start the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Magenta Security’s managing director believes the security success will be based on effective partnerships. Abbey Petkar, managing director, Magenta Security Services: “The Olympics is one of the biggest security tests the UK has ever been faced with. Partnerships will be central to the successful delivery of the security plan. The organisers, Government and a host of policing, safety and security agencies have already shown they are working together with the aim of achieving a safe and secure event, and we look forward to playing our own part.” Magenta believes that despite the cost of security at the Olympics doubling, it is a necessary step to ensure each venue has the highest ... Make sure your assets are well protected as fuel theft rises in the region
posted on 14/03/2012
Last week the BBC reported the incredible rise in fuel theft across the UK, and Lincolnshire is one of the worst hit areas and with a reported 8,235 cases in 2011, more than 1,200 of them were in Lincolnshire alone. Fuel and heating oil theft has been rife in the country for the last year and the ever increasing rise in fuel cost is driving criminals to petrol and diesel theft, as well as heating oil. According to Humberside Police where the problem is at its highest levels, the most common method of fuel theft in the area is directly from vehicles. Thieves drill directly into the fuel tank of parked vehicles, and drivers don’t notice anything is wrong until they start the engine and attempt to drive off. This method is extremely dangerous as a drill is normally used. The combination of petrol fumes and a hot drill bit can potentially cause the tank to ignite. Andrew Percy, MP for Brigg and Goole, is a strong supporter of FairFuel UK campaign that strives to bring down fuel pric... [more]

The core solution for both prisons is built around Senstar's sensors: • IntelliFiber fence mounted fiber-optic sensors; • Omnitrax buried cable as a covert detection layer between fences; • μltraWave microwave sensor as a virtual fence and gap filler, and; • Several third party hybrid MW/IR detectors. All the sensors are networked and integrated via StarNet, which serves a local PIDS SMS (Security Management System), into a third party larger scope Command and Control system. “Senstar’s strategy towards integration makes the selection of our sensor products easy for security integrators,” said Jonathan Murray, Marketing Director. “PIDS projects usually require a multilayered approach, so having a wide product range, supported by powerful integration tools gives integrators flexibility to tailor full security solut...
