New long-range RFID solution complements APT Skidata's ANPR solution

APT Skidata has introduced a new long-range Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag and reader solution to complement its existing Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) capabilities. The RFID tag is a passive device (ie it requires no batteries) that is permanently attached to the window of the car. As the car approaches the barrier, the tag is read by the reader from a range of up to 10 metres, allowing the barrier to open in good time and with an accuracy of almost 100%. The tag can be configured to allow the user access only on particular times or days of the week, and can be integrated with the latest e-ticketing solutions. New release of Talon ANPR for a leaner, more powerful and efficient number plate recognition

NDI Recognition Systems (NDI-RS) has announced the Talon ANPR engine version 8.2 of their proprietary ANPR, with enhancements to performance, international reading capability and a simplified set-up. Global Renewables equips sites with integrated CCTV and emergency call station networks

Global Renewables Lancashire Operations Ltd processes over 300,000 tonnes of household rubbish annually at its two new processing facilities near Preston and Blackpool. Global Renewables required each installation to provide perimeter security protection, process control cameras to monitor all points of the rubbish sorting and Reduction, Recovery & Recycling process, ANPR to identify vehicles on site, and an automated fire detection system.
