Cloudmark, Inc. is encouraging users to share theirs in a new online video contest. Cloudmark has launched “Show us Your Spam,” a contest that invites users to submit video that depicts the most interesting, unusual, funny or just plain annoying spam message they’ve received. Beginning today, users can visit the Cloudmark and upload a video to enter the contest. Submitted videos should visually portray a spam message that a user has received. To kick things off, Cloudmark has provided a video sample. Each video will be evaluated by a combination of public ratings and a panel of judges using the following criteria: • Overall Impact (educational, inspiring, persuasive, funny) • Creativity • Memorable Content and Delivery • Clear Message The three entries that receive the highest overall scores from both public rating and the judges will be selected as finalists. SMBs open to significant legal issues over data ownership

Many SMBs are now truly embracing social networking applications by adopted them within their overall marketing strategies. But it is almost impossible to track who owns this data as social data content is aggregated from site to site. A survey by SpamTitan Technologies has highlighted the failure by small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to adopt formal corporate social media policies. And SMBs could thus be storing up legal trouble for themselves in the not too distant future, warned the Purdy FitzGerald law firm. SpamTitan's Q1 2010 audit of 200 SMBs worldwide revealed that while almost all allowed Internet access and some social networking applications in the workplace almost half (49 per cent) admitted they had not taken even basic steps towards a social media policy such as deploying a Web filter. “As business embraces social networking as a way to propagate messages and build their brands the line dividing personal and company data is becoming increasingly blurred,” sa... Ticketing websites need to prove that they are genuine

Acoording to an online YouGov survey commissioned by VeriSign, online ticket shoppers are voting with their feet when it comes to illegitimate-looking ticketing sites, with over one in ten adults online in the UK (11%) halting an event ticket purchase from sites they have encountered which appear suspicious. The figures highlight the need for websites to demonstrate strong security credentials in order to maximise sales and gain trust from potential buyers. The figure comes as a summer of high profile events, such as the World Cup, Wimbledon and Glastonbury, gets underway. With 46 percent of the adult population online reporting that they have bought tickets for events on the web in the past year and 82 percent stating that they only ever use websites with enhanced security when making transactions or providing personal information online, sellers must ensure their websites are visible secure in order to maximise the potential of this lucrative market. Few financial services companies have plans to invest in cloud computing this year

According to a recent LogLogic® industry benchmark report for financial services, surveying 82 of the world’s largest banks, investment houses and insurance companies, today’s financial services firms are avoiding popular IT infrastructure investments such as cloud computing, in large part due to data security and transparency concerns. The “2010 Financial Services Industry Analysis: Critical Concerns for Information Security in a Down Economy”, which sought to uncover the top information technology and security priorities for today’s financial services companies, found that essential IT functions, such as security and compliance, continue to be the top concern for IT departments industry-wide. Hampshire County Council Selects CRYPTOCard Two-Factor Authentication

Hampshire County Council has extended its five-year relationship with authentication authority CRYPTOCard to roll-out two-factor authentication for education staff across participating schools in the county. With CRYPTOCard’s innovative, user-friendly authentication service, the county’s teachers will be able to access education services, such as SIMS.net which holds comprehensive information on staff and pupils, easily and securely. Hampshire, one of the largest County Councils, will initially run the service among 370 schools over the next six to twelve months and then potentially across all schools in 2011. CRYPTOCard has worked with the County Council since 2005 to provide authentication services across its head office and satellite office employees and also among county-controlled services, including the fire service.
