Argyll Lone Worker Solutions secures a two-year contract with Co-operative Farms. The contract win comes on the back of the latest HSE figures which show there were almost 1,000 incidents where lone workers in the agricultural sector suffered fatal or major injuries in 2010/11. The Dunoon-based security specialists will provide Co-operative Farms with 80 MobiCare devices. The BS8484 certified security solution will be distributed among the company’s employees who spend much of their working day in remote conditions. MobiCare converts a user’s existing mobile phone into a comprehensive Lone Worker risk management tool. There is an integrated panic button installed in the MobiCare solution to raise the signal to Argyll’s independent Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) if required. Fulham required undisrupted video coverage, as well as image quality that would enable operators to zoom in on individual faces in a crowd. Sixty-three Axis Communications cameras, 25 of which are PTZ, utilizing joysticks for simple camera angle manipulation were installed. Using Axis’s ... [more]

Central to this strategy is the will to support the community in the face of a range of natural and man made risk factors. Situated against the picturesque backdrop of the South Pennines, Oldham Council’s remit extends across a mix of urban and rural areas. While this rustic scenery is a source of pleasure for most of the time, the weather can turn severe with floods and heavy snow on occasions. In addition, the town itself has not been immune from some of the social issues associated with many post-industrial areas. However, the Oldham EMC is not just for crisis handling. It also carries out a range of routine but essential tasks such as providing a 24 hour contact point for the authority and public space CCTV monitoring. The EMC provides high quality local security monitoring services, with a Mobile Response Team and a close relationship with Greater Manchester Police. Another esse... [more]
