Honeywell (NYSE:HON) yesterday brought out several enhancements to its popular WIN-PAK® integrated security platform that enable users greater ability to integrate digital video into their security systems, as well as work with a wider range of access control panels. WIN-PAK now seamlessly supports Honeywell’s NetAXS-123, NetAXS-4 and NS2 access control panels to provide full compatibility for legacy and new systems. Supplementary to WIN-PAK supporting the Honeywell Fusion, HRDP and Rapid Eye™ hybrid digital video recorders, it also offers a new interface that supports the Honeywell MAXPRO® NVR XE/SE network video recorders for easy access to stored and live video events and alarms. IFSEC 2012 showcases Maxxess’ eFusion Event Management Software

Visitors to stand D95 in Hall 5 at IFSEC 2012 will be able to witness a demonstration of the new version of Maxxess’ eFusion Event Management software and its connectivity to many of the industry’s third party security systems. eFusion is able to interfaces with over forty video manufacturers, most intrusion panels such as Ademco, Bosch, DMP, Scantronics, and Honeywell and major fire panels including Notifier, Gent and Siemens. eFusion also integrates to thirteen unique application modules to offer Active Directory, Building Management, Remote Monitoring and Identity Management solutions. US' strategy against Metal Theft sets example for UK

As the US initiates new state laws to help reduce the metal theft epidemic, the UK government has ruled out providing additional funding to combat the issue. VPS, the Vacant Property Specialists are urging UK property owners and managers to take their own proactive measures to protect their assets. The US’ new and innovative state laws include sellers signing a sworn affidavit that the metal was not obtained illegally, sellers and drivers providing photographic ID which stays on file for a minimum of two years and unlicensed out-of-town core buyers and secondary metals recyclers being required to have permits. Sellers may also be required to provide work orders, police reports or other documentation depending on the transaction. In addition, any tools or vehicles used in the commission of the metal theft can now be seized by law enforcement. Future Fibre Technologies gains ownership of ‘736 patent, suit against Optellios settled

Future Fibre Technologies Pty., Ltd. (“FFT”), the global leader in the development, manufacturing, and installation of fiber-optic intrusion detection systems, previously announced that it filed a lawsuit against Optellios, Inc. (“Optellios”) on July 25, 2008. In the lawsuit, FFT, claimed that it is the rightful owner of United States Patent No. 7,142,736 (“736 Patent”). At that time FFT sought, among other things, that the ‘736 Patent be assigned to FFT, and stated that "the company firmly believed that FFT employees are the rightful inventors of the ‘736 Patent, and that the patent belonged to FFT." In response, Optellios asserted in part that the suit was precluded by a previous settlement agreement between the parties. On August 15, 2011, the United States District Court for the District of Delaware found in favor of FFT on this issue and denied the Optellios motion to enforce the previous settlement agreement.
