Last week a SCADA-based water system in the US has been hacked by cybercriminals, apparently based in Russia. Infosecurity Europe raises the need to a better IT security education, as hackers pose real dangers to everyone in society. Are UK border controls tough enough ?

Three senior UK Border Agency officials have been suspended over claims that staff were told to relax the checks made on non-EU nationals arriving in the UK. In July 2011, ministers agreed the UKBA begin a pilot scheme involving the secret relaxation of border checks only on EU nationals; with the unions claiming that such measures were taken in order to cope with queues due to cuts in personnel.
