Spire Shawfair Park hospital is a new hospital in the East of Scotland and is part of Spire healthcare. As a new modern hospital facility with the latest medical equipment, Shawfair park hospital provides a range of private day care services to patients across Scotland.
CEM Systems' CEM AC2000 Lite security management system has been installed by ADT Glasgow to secure Edinburgh’s new Spire Shawfair Park hospital. The AC2000 Lite system secures patients, visitors and the state-of-the-art medical equipment at the hospital.
AC2000 Lite provides the hospital with an integrated access control, alarm processing and photo badging security management system. AC2000 Lite is a feature rich yet cost effective system and encompasses many of the core features of the powerful CEM AC2000 SE (Standard Edition) system.
“The CEM AC2000 Lite system was the ideal choice for Spire Shawfair Park hospital as it not only ticked the project boxes in terms of affordability and features, but provided an advanced access control solution that was easy to install” said Andrew Fulton, Business Development Director for CEM products. “Healthcare facilities are not only under pressure to tighten security measures but also to find ways of using the security system to increase operational efficiencies. The CEM AC2000 system offers this flexibility and has successfully been installed at hospitals throughout the UK.”
AC2000 software comes with many security applications, with Shawfair Park hospital particularly favoring the CEM VIPPS ID Badging application. The AC2000 VIPPS application allows the hospital to print and design their own professional access cards, while providing the ability to divide card holders into access groups including day surgery, X-Ray, accident and emergency and hospital porters. This ensures only authorized individuals have access to certain areas.
AC2000 Lite software also includes the AC2000 Alarm Event Display (AED) application. AED responds to all alarm situations in real time providing a dynamic on-screen interface to external systems such as CCTV. Shawfair Park Hospital can use this application to alert security personnel if an alarm is triggered or a door forced. Security at the hospital can act on this alarm immediately to ensure staff and patients are kept safe, and restricted areas are kept secure.
With the AC2000 Lite system successfully installed, Shawfair Park Hospital now has secure entrance points, with staff issued with smart card technology ID badges to control which parts of the hospital they can or cannot access.
