D-Link new IP surveillance cameras help to replace existing CCTV infrastructure with cost-effective IP surveillance solutions
(20/10/2010)
D-Link has announced the launch of three new IP surveillance cameras – DCS- 3710, DCS-6818, and DCS-5635. The cameras are designed to be used on their own or in conjunction with existing CCTV systems to allow organisations to receive the benefits of IP surveillance, such as greater scalability, flexibility, high-quality images and lower storage costs.
D-Link’s IP surveillance products can easily plug into and optimise existing networks, and the compatibility of D-Link’s IP surveillance product means that D-Link’s digital solutions can be integrated with current CCTV systems. This means that an upgrade to D-Link’s IP surveillance solutions does not require a complete and expensive overhaul of existing systems.
“As the majority of organisations already have a capable network infrastructure in place, implementing IP surveillance can be a seamless process and requires minimum investment,” said Chris Davies, general manager, D-Link UK & Ireland. “These new products will help UK businesses, academic institutions and public sector organisations to replace or enhance their existing CCTV infrastructure with more cost-effective and easier to manage IP surveillance solutions.”
The three new IP surveillance cameras provide an end-to-end solution for IP surveillance especially when integrated into existing network infrastructures such as wireless, network switching and storage. As IP surveillance is network-based, it allows organisations to view live full-motion video from anywhere in the world 24/7 from any PC, laptop, smartphone or other web-enabled device. This can help organisations protect against theft and ensure that their people, possessions and property are monitored effectively.

In addition, the removable IR-cut filter for day/night functionality provides clear detail and high quality video at any hour of the day. The DCS-3710 incorporates Power over Ethernet (PoE) and an SD card slot, allowing it to be easily installed in a variety of locations.
· D-Link DCS-6818 – The D-Link DCS-6818 is a high-performance, high speed dome network camera, ideal for business IP surveillance applications.
