IronKey helps Orbotech ensure all high value company and customer data is secure
(06/09/2010)
IronKey is providing Orbotech with its enterprise offering with centalized management. Orbotech is principally engaged in the design, development, manufacture, marketing and service of yield-enhancing and production solutions for specialized applications in the supply chain of the electronics industry.
With headquarters and its primary research, development and manufacturing facilities in Israel and more than 30 offices worldwide, Orbotech's employees - with more than one quarter scientists and engineers - integrate their multi-disciplinary knowledge, talents and skills to develop and provide sophisticated solutions and technologies designed to meet customers' long-term needs. And with many of Orbotech’s engineers and scientists currently working remotely on customer sites, the company turned to IronKey to help ensure all high value company and customer data is secure and its customers' networks are not left vulnerable to viruses.
Argoetti Itai, IT Support Manager, Corporate Information Technologies, Orbotech, said: “We looked at all the leading secure USB drives and IronKey stood out for us on a number of key criteria:
• Encrypted data
• Access control and password policy
• Antivirus software - built in Malware protection
• End user self-service password recovery capabilities
• The ability to centrally and remotely manage devices including policy enforcement and remote wipe
Itai continued, “We’ve had great support from IronKey from the beginning of the relationship. Their advice and ideas have ensured the solution is so far meeting all of our needs and expectations.
The deal follows an increase in DataCrypto's customer awareness and demand for security products which can offer mobile data security and encryption. FIPS 140-3 Level validated, IronKey security devices address these needs in several ways:
• protect important company data in case a computer is lost or stolen
• securely back up important files while travelling
• securely move data between computers
• establish connections to corporate networks even if malicious software is running on the user’s computer
• connect securely to corporate networks over untrusted WiFi networks with unknown DNS providers
• securely manage a plethora of passwords to corporate and online sites
Nir Perry, vice president of sales at DataCrypto commented, "We are proud that another firm such as Orbotech has joined the line of IronKey customers in Israel, which already includes leading banks and health services providers. These organisations have recently begun to demand a secure portable computing device which combines hardware based encryption with an advanced management system which works on Win, Mac and Unix. The IronKey solution is the only real option which meets their needs.”
The Orbotech announcement follows IronKey's recent commitment to deliver an elite global partner programme to support both channel partners and end users.
Colin Woodland, IronKey’s director of EMEA field operations concluded, "We’re excited by our ongoing relationship with both Orobotech and DataCrypto, as the Israeli market houses many leading innovators in the ICT sector and represents a great opportunity for innovation and growth for IronKey."
