G4S has agreed a Preferred Supplier Contract for Unisto security seals for its cash processing, ATM and valuables in transit services.

According to Andy Marsh, G4S’s Head of UK Cash in Transit Support “Standardising on Unisto security seals will enable us to unify our logistical processes to improve efficiency and risk management in the face of diverse and growing global threats.”

In use, the new Unisto seals are quick to fit, scan and remove. They speed up the processing of bulk cash and high value consignments in a wide range of containers and will deliver significant efficiency gains over the period of the contract.

Under this agreement, valued at more than £4million over the full contract term, Unisto will be supplying a total of around 250 million seals enabling G4S to enhance security procedures, unify logistical processes and achieve significant cost savings of over £500K.

Unisto seals will be used across G4S’s business operations to enhance the level of security provided. Each seal features a unique sequential digit barcode with an additional security check digit laser etched directly into the tag for use with G4S’s logistical system, to speed up the track and trace process for high value goods and cash in transit. G4S is also the first user of Banco 4, a new ATM seal developed by Unisto to be faster and easier to use as well as providing a 20% reduction in operational costs.

“This important contract consolidates our position as one of the world’s leading providers of high performance security seals,” added Donald Miller, Unisto’s Sales and Marketing Director. “With a proven 100% track record of reliability, Unisto seals will provide G4S with the highest levels of tamper evidence and deliver significant cost and efficiency gains across the whole procurement and logistics cycle.”
