eSoft's SiteFilter OEM Program Reaches 50 Partners
(24/05/2010)
eSoft, Inc. has announced it has accrued 50 SiteFilter OEM partners, which is a program milestone. These OEM partners include end-point security and anti-virus vendors, UTM and network security vendors, ISPs, MSSPs and mobile phone providers, among others.
eSoft’s SiteFilter solution categorises active areas of the web across the globe with unparalleled coverage and accuracy, providing partners with strong security and policy control features that are integrated directly into their own products.
It is widely acknowledged that the computer security war is increasingly being fought through the web browser. Malicious URLs are delivered via email, but the viruses exploit browsers and third-party plugins to get into systems, making every computer on a network a potential foothold for hackers. eSoft’s SiteFilter addresses these problems by using the power of cloud computing combined with the company’s Distributed Intelligence Architecture™ to scrutinise websites for threats and deliver real-time protection to end-users.
“The rapid increase in OEM partnerships is further evidence of the strengths of eSoft’s SiteFilter offering,” said Jeff Finn, eSoft’s chief executive officer. “We continue to win business based on a combination of outstanding coverage of the active web, our high accuracy rates, and strong and swift detection of newly-detected malicious sites. In addition, the recent announcement of SiteFilter Version 3, with its innovative mapping capability, has attracted partners seeking a seamless transition from older generation URL filtering to the secure web filtering and Web 2.0 capabilities of SiteFilter.”
eSoft’s Threat Prevention Team regularly blogs about significant threats it finds in the course of identifying and collecting thousands of samples of new malware and malicious sites daily. The Threat Prevention Team recently warned about the dangers of certain web searches, the problems associated with anonymous affiliate programs, and attacks seen on Twitter and elsewhere.
