vaultCritical enables organisations to store and index every internal and external email and attachment
(23/04/2010)
iCritical has launched vaultCritical, a high-performance and permanent email archive solution. vaultCritical enables organisations to gather, store and index every internal and external email and attachment sent to, from and within an operation for disaster recovery purposes, intellectual property management and for addressing human resource and legal requirements.
Delivered as an ‘in the cloud’ solution, vaultCritical makes the process of tracking emails — regardless of whether they have been ‘deleted’ by users — simple and cost-effective. The scalable solution offers the ability to rapidly search an entire email archive, using ‘e-discovery’ — a superior search facility comparable to an internet search engine. This allows the quick and easy retrieval of emails and attachments in their original format.
iCritical has launched vaultCritical in partnership with Forensic & Compliance Systems and will utilise its Cryoserver technology to power the solution. This forensic archive system tracks and stores emails securely in an encrypted format, ensuring that communication cannot be deleted or amended, and enabling the system to provide complete data confidentiality and a forensic ‘tamper-evident’ analysis of an organisation’s email history. This ensures the highest standard of compliance to organisational, legal and all government imposed privacy, email and data regulations.
vaultCritical offers customers three levels of administration. At its foundation, all users can access the system to retrieve messages that they have sent and received. A small group of trusted individuals, known as privileged users, are able to search all emails that have been archived. Searches conducted by this group are logged, stored and shared with data guardians, who occupy the highest management level within a vaultCritical customer organisation. Data guardians have the ultimate responsibility for checking that searches are in accordance with the stated reason, corporate policy and regulatory requirements.
Chris Gee, Director at iCritical, comments: “vaultCritical offers organisations an invaluable means of tracking and retrieving email data in accordance with all appropriate compliance and regulatory requirements. It has been introduced as part of iCritical’s email security portfolio following high demand from clients for a superior archiving tool. While it can be delivered as a standalone solution, it perfectly complements our existing email security solution, mailCritical.”
