Cannock Gates supports customer in her struggle against ant-social behaviour and harassment
(24/02/2010)
Cannock Gates Limited was contacted by Poole resident Asher Nardone in 2008. Asher, single mother to two boys, is one of a number of long-suffering neighbours on Poole's Rossmore estate. The estate has for some time been subjected to the intimidating behaviour of a gang of youths whose tactics have included brick throwing, repeated vandalism, animal cruelty, verbal abuse and physical attacks.
Given that one of Asher's sons is severely disabled, her story has parallels with the case of Fiona Pilkington, whose family suffered repeated incidents of anti-social behaviour. These tragically led to Fiona's suicide in a car fire that also claimed the life of her disabled daughter. Indeed, echoes of the Fiona Pilkington case have brought Asher's experience to the attention of provincial and national media and to Westminster, with both the PM and the leader of the opposition taking an interest.
Cannock Gates immediate reaction to Asher Nardone's approach was the recognition that her situation could be significantly improved with the installation of their Royal Talisman wrought iron estate gates. The fact that the ultra heavy-duty steel gates are built with security in mind are 6' high with lockable heavy duty sliding latch/bolt and lockable drop bolts, make them paricularly effective in dettering anti-social behaviour.
The gates were delivered and installed within 14 days of Ashers enquiry with Cannock Gates offering a significant 75% discount on the usual price of £925.00 as well as free delivery.
Asher has been particularly pleased with the outcome of her Cannock Gates installation - so much so that she has taken the time to write to Cannock Gates' Managing Director, Colin Stead. In her email, Asher speaks of the 'difference that having gates had made'. She also talks of the proof her experience provides that 'gates help to keep people out'.
Colin, commenting on Asher's feedback, said, "Effective marking of the boundaries of a property is clearly one of the positive actions people can take in countering anti-social behaviour. We're exceptionally pleased and proud that one of our products has proved so useful in this case. In fact, we've seen a surge in enquiries from homeowners seeking to improve their home security ... so much so, that we launched our first 'national security week' in 2009. A dedicated home security advice webpage on our website formed part of that launch and we are always pleased to give over-the-telephone advice and recommendations on how gate installation can make a property more secure."
