Westminster Group secures contract to supply security equipment to UK prisons

The UK Ministry of Justice has responsibility for 139 prisons in England and Wales with varying levels of security requirements. Westminster Group Plc has entered into a four year framework contract with the UK Ministry of Justice (MoJ) relating to the supply and maintenance of various security equipments for UK Prisons.
Westminster holds exclusive distribution and supply agreements for key security equipments enabling the efficient and effective control of entry and exit points and the movement of inmates in secure areas.
The contract is for a four year period ending on 30th November 2013 and is subject to performance criteria.
Commenting on the contract award Peter Fowler, Chief Executive of Westminster Group, said: “I am particularly pleased that we have been awarded this contract. It is both prestigious and long term giving Westminster a further valuable endorsement within the security industry.
“The Ministry of Justice rightly require demanding standards of their contractors and I believe Westminster is well placed to meet these exacting requirements. Given the scale of the Ministry of Justice’s operations we are hopeful that we can further develop the supply relationship to incorporate more of Westminster’s products and services in the MoJ’s security and protection solution.”
