TerminalFive ACTA offers improved security and accurate time keeping records
(09/11/2009)
TerminalFive ACTA from NFive is capable of addressing all access control and time and attendance needs in one versatile, easy to install unit. Offering improved security and accurate time keeping records for businesses of all kinds, TerminalFive ACTA is a simple and cost effective solution.
The TerminalFive ACTA is housed in a compact & durable IP55 rated case with a choice of interface devices including a Biometrics (fingerprint) scanner, Mifare or iClass reader. An RS232C port allows connection of an external reader which increases flexibility even further. This allows TerminalFive ACTA to be connected to devices such as a barcode scanner, magnetic stripe reader or a second Mifare or other contactless reader.
Depending on the requirements of the company and the size of the installation, ACTA offers 3 modes of operation.
The simplest mode available from ACTA is the ‘Stand Alone Mode’. This mode allows the ACTA terminal to be configured without the need for a PC with new users enrolled directly on the terminal itself. Responding to a proximity card, fingerprint, PIN code or combination of all 3 methods, ACTA makes sure that secure access is maintained at all times. Depending on setup, when a valid token is presented, the door will open or the user will be checked-in or checked-out.
The most popular mode for using ACTA is the ‘Web Management Mode’. In this mode the configuration of the terminal is carried out via a web browser where users, permissions & access time periods are set. Approx 1000 users can be stored allowing staff to check in and check out of buildings as necessary, whilst maintaining a full event log of around 10,000 events. Employee hourly rates can also be input so that the information can be exported via .csv to a payroll application to calculate salaries. Furthermore, once a single master terminal is setup, additional slave terminals can be added to the system and once authorised for use by the master terminal, all configurations will automatically be copied to each slave terminal.
The final and most advanced mode available from ACTA is the ‘Application Mode’. This mode works alongside the TimeFive & AccessFive applications from NFive offering superb flexibility to provide full management of groups, zones, sub zones and doors across sites. This mode offers the ability to manage thousands of users, hundreds of doors & an unlimited number of events.
In all modes TerminalFive ACTA can also be used as an alarm system as it can be connected to any number of contacts to monitor doors, windows etc. For added security an internal tamper switch ensures that the terminal is protected from vandalism and can even be set to erase data in its internal memory should someone try to open it without authorisation.
TerminalFive ACTA can be powered by an external power source, POE (Power Over Ethernet) or if used as a desktop reader, by the unit’s USB port. Additional options available from include door latches, external sirens & REX (request to exit) buttons.
For even greater flexibility, TerminalFive ACTA can be integrated with the TerminalSeven automation system and can act as a controller for any electrical device in the building such as lights, doors, gates etc.
