Personnel from Octavian Security have been enhancing their training provision thanks to an anti-terror initiative hosted by Nottingham City Centre Inter-Agency Emergency Planning Group and Nottinghamshire Constabulary.

Officers have been attending sessions as part of Operation Griffin, organised to spread information on how to prevent terror activities and how best to assist police services in the event of incidents.

Project Griffin is aimed at businesses and public sector organisations and is delivered in three strands, including three sessions by the police, and a briefing session to enable Griffin-trained staff to obtain up-to-date information from the police.

Topics covered included explosives ordnance disposal, an intelligence overview, hostile reconnaissance, person-borne bombs, cordons and associated powers.

Sukhi Ghuman, CEO of Octavian Security, commented: “As an organisation dedicated to protecting people and organisations, we need to be at the forefront of initiatives like Operation Griffin. Not only does this benefit our personnel, it also adds value to our clients in both the public and private sectors because we can spread best practice and awareness of the latest thinking.”
