One Day Visitor Pass secures access control in Connecticut hospital

Jack Mayoros, Director of Security at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut, USA has a large campus to protect. He recently reported the results of a new visitor management system he implemented last year called One Day Visitor Pass.
Mr. Mayoros ordered it be used for certain areas of the hospital when regular visiting hours are over, such as patient floors and during normal business hours in one of their physician office buildings. “We had experienced an increase in thefts over the prior six to eight months,” he recalled. “By funneling people to sign in, and by issuing the visitor pass - getting an I.D. and a name on the person - we cut our thefts to zero.”
This affordable visitor sign-in solution, produced by Data Management, Inc., of Farmington, CT, USA secures and streamlines three key components of access control: visitor sign-in, visitor identification, and visitor tracking. It is available in wirebound books of 400-500 two-part adhesive badges and, soon, as output for computerized visitor management systems.
