T and S Group wins largest order for grilles and windows within the UK custodial market

T&S Group has won the largest single order ever placed for grilles and windows within the UK custodial market - worth more than £3m.
The Group’s Security Engineering and Windows divisions will manufacture 2,400 windows and high security grilles for the 1700 place Category B ‘Mini Titan Prison’ extension to Featherstone Prison - a contract that will begin in the next few weeks and continue throughout next year. T&S Group will be working for construction company Kier Build who won the £185m Ministry of Justice contract. The prison is scheduled for completion in 2012.
All of the windows and grilles will be manufactured at T&S’ -factories in Tuxford, which were opened last year, in response to a growing workload in the secure accommodation sector. In recent months the company has worked at most of the major prisons in the UK.
Commenting on this major coup, T&S Group Managing Director, Jamie Smith, said: “This is great news for everyone connected with T&S, and not only provides us with a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate how well we can deliver on a project of this scale, but also gives us a fantastic platform from which to develop new business opportunities and realise our exciting expansion plans.”
