Bolton Wanderers FC keeps a clean sheet with ScanSafe SaaS Web security
(12/10/2009)
ScanSafe has announced that Bolton Wanderers FC has selected its technology as its first line of Web defence for employees for the next three years.
Prior to selecting ScanSafe, Bolton Wanderers FC previously used on-site hardware for its Web security which it found to time consuming to maintain and update. “We were looking to move to a SaaS solution in order to save both time and money,” comments Dave Atkinson, IT Director at Bolton Wanderers FC.
After moving its email security to the SaaS model and quickly realizing the benefits, it decided it was time to research the market and select a premier SaaS solution that it could use for its Web security. It looked at various competing vendors however found that ScanSafe offered the best solution and service.
“One of the key selling points of ScanSafe was its Anywhere+ solution,” continues Atkinson. “We were particularly impressed with the quick deployment and ease of use. The ability to track and enforce uniform security policies on all of our workforces is fantastic.”
Bolton Wanderers FC is now keeping a clean sheet with ScanSafe using it to protect users with Web malware scanning and Web filtering and its remote workers with Anywhere+, the world’s first SaaS Web security for roaming workers.
“Since deploying ScanSafe we have had no issues. It was really a no brainer for us to select this solution as the deployment has been surprisingly easy, the categorization is far better than our previous solution and the number of support queries we have had from employees has been significantly reduced due to the simple traffic light system,” said Atkinson. “We have also found that our Web performance has actually improved now that the protection is happening in the cloud and away from our network.”
As a SaaS solution powered by ScanSafe, its offerings require no hardware, upfront capital costs or maintenance and provide unparalleled real-time threat protection with zero latency. As a result, the services increase productivity, reduce bandwidth consumption and offer a lower total cost of ownership than hardware or software solutions. In addition, by removing the burden of maintenance, the solutions free internal IT resources, allowing them to focus on projects directly related to an organisation’s core competency.
