GFI Software acquires remote monitoring and management company HoundDog Technology
(29/07/2009)
GFI Software has announced that HoundDog Technology Ltd, a remote monitoring and management company in the UK, now forms part of the GFI family.
For GFI, the HoundDog technology – that provides Managed Service Providers (MSPs), Value Added Resellers (VARs) and IT support organizations with an easier, more affordable way to monitor and manage their client networks – perfectly complements GFI’s plans to provide the channel with the best applications and solutions available to help them manage and grow their business.
“This is the first of a number of initiatives we are undertaking to provide customers with a range of services that include both on-premise and on-line solutions. We chose HoundDog for the simple reason that they are a best-of-breed company in the Cloud with a great tool for MSPs, VARs and IT support organizations to provide a service at less cost and in the most convenient way to their customers. We bought it because it is the best monitoring solution, it has the best reporting and provides the best value for our Channel,” Walter Scott, GFI’s CEO said.
HoundDog Technology delivers a suite of remote management, monitoring and support tools to over 1,700 IT Support Organizations and Managed Service Providers (MSPs) worldwide and has experienced strong business growth in recent months. MSPs use HoundDog’s real-time systems monitoring, automated daily health checks, asset tracking, patch management, own-brand client reporting and remote support solutions to build recurring revenues, drive down their operating costs and deliver best-of-breed IT support services.
HoundDog’s founder, Doug Wilson said: “HoundDog has been a great experience for us over the past four years. We have seen fantastic take up by the Channel and our growth has been exceptional. When GFI came knocking on our door, we knew this was a great opportunity to partner with an established technology leader, round out our product offering and launch it to a worldwide audience. We believe that GFI is the perfect vehicle to push our remote monitoring and management technology to as many MSPs as possible and look forward to being part of the GFI family.”
“HoundDog is an extremely successful company on a fantastic growth curve. We are confident that this will be the catalyst for GFI to further expand our product portfolio using either on-premise or an on-line delivery model. We are looking at bringing in other companies and their technology in the coming months that will enable us to continue to provide the best possible solutions to our customers based on their infrastructure and needs at the time,” Mr Scott added.
