iBase IntelliShare enables operational teams to securely access and share information
(24/09/2009)
i2 has launched i2 iBase IntelliShare, a Web-based application that enables operational teams and managers throughout an organisation to securely access, collaborate on and share information. The end result is real-time, vital intelligence delivered at the point of need.
The i2 iBase data repository has long served organisations by helping analysts capture, control and analyse multi-source data in a secure environment. iBase IntelliShare opens up the high value intelligence held in the iBase repository to wider operational teams — enabling secure, controlled access and contributions to the intelligence stored in the repository without requiring the involvement of an analyst.
"iBase IntelliShare has already made a big impact on how Hertfordshire Constabulary operates, as we have been able to significantly improve the level of working knowledge our officers are armed with and provide them with a tool that is far more efficient and effective," said Stephen Dalzell, Principal Analyst, Hertfordshire Constabulary.
" iBase IntelliShare empowers our officers to be more entrepreneurial in the way they approach investigations and retain this initiative at all times. If I were ever to move to another police force, this would be the first purchase I would seek to make."
iBase IntelliShare is a core component of the new i2 Intelligence-Led Operations Platform, which helps organisations to not only capture and analyse data, but place the timely and rich intelligence in the hands of those who need it. iBase IntelliShare offers several valuable benefits to users throughout an organisation:
Extends the value of intelligence to wider operational teams as entire organisations can contribute to intelligence collection and analysis activities
Secure, intuitive Web-based browser interface encourages greater collaboration and intelligence sharing across the whole organisation
Increases effectiveness of analysts by allowing them to spend more time on analysis by enabling self-service access to analytical outputs and intelligence
Capitalises on the existing investment in i2 capabilities as new groups of users can work alongside traditional analyst groups on the same platform
"Analysts have invested significant time and resources to populate their databases with valuable intelligence data, and are now challenged to provide broader collaboration on this data across the organisation,” said Chriss Knisley, Assistant Vice President, at i2. "iBase IntelliShare puts the high value intelligence held in the iBase repository into the hands of more people, bridging information gaps and enabling the broader team to grasp the big picture and make more informed, rapid decisions.”
iBase IntelliShare supports more diverse needs. Analysts can continue to use the rich functionality of both i2 Analyst's Notebook and iBase desktop applications to support their requirements for a rich, in-depth analytical environment. At the same time, the new solution is ideal for other operational users who require only lightweight capabilities for search, data visualisation and controlled data entry that are intuitive and easy to use.
The i2 Intelligence-Led Operations Platform enables public safety, military, national security and commercial organisations to proactively solve, deter, prevent, predict and disrupt the world's most sophisticated criminal and terrorist threats. By supporting all types of operations, the platform enables analysts, managers and investigators to uncover hidden connections faster, deliver timely and actionable results, and communicate complex situations more clearly than ever.
The platform encompasses: flexible and fast data acquisition with i2 iXa Search Service and i2 iBridge; rich analysis and visualisation with i2 iBase, i2 TextChart, i2 Analyst's Notebook® and i2 Analyst's Workstation; and real-time sharing of intelligence and information in the iBase repository.
