Public Address and Voice Alarm Systems from Bosch installed at new Danish broadcasting complex
(25/06/2009)
DR Byen, the new Danish broadcasting complex in Copenhagen features a highly creative design inspired by the Middle Eastern Kasbah with a 180 meter long indoor street linking three segments housing the studios, offices, depots and administration, and one segment housing a world-class concert hall with seating for 1800 people.
Electrical installation company Lindpro made no compromises when selecting the Public Address and Voice Alarm systems for the complex. “We chose Bosch Security Systems for several reasons. They were the only producer on the market able to meet the challenges presented by the new complex, and also because Bosch had the widest range of loudspeakers,” says Henrik Olsen, product manager responsible for Public Address and voice alarm system installation at Lindpro.
Each of the segments of DR Byen has its own specific requirements so it was not possible to use one solution for all segments. So to provide optimum functionality in all segments, Lindpro chose to install Plena Public Address and Voice Alarms Systems in the segments housing the studios, offices, depots and administration and in the interconnecting street. For the new concert hall, they installed a state-of-the-art Praesideo digital Public Address and Voice Alarm System.
The loudspeaker installation in the concert hall also had to meet the very demanding architectural standards of the hall designed by French architect Jean Nouvel. Lindpro met this challenge by hiding the loudspeakers for the voice alarm system in artificial organ pipes placed in front of the real organ pipes.
Lindpro chose Intellivox Active Line Array Loudspeakers from Bosch because of their special acoustic characteristics which can be adjusted by software to match any environment, so sound is directed only to the areas where it is needed thereby preventing annoying reflections. Combined with the Praesideo’s superb digital sound, this unique capability leads to exceptional intelligibility unrivalled by any other Public Address system.
