Arecont Vision’s MegaDome™ series integrates the camera, lens and housing into an all-in-one solution. The cameras incorporate Arecont Vision's fully compliant implementation of H.264 (MPEG 4, Part 10) compression. On average this uses up to 10 times less bandwidth and storage when compared to megapixel counterparts using MJPEG compression.

The range supports both H.264 and MJPEG at full resolutions and capture rates of up to 32ips, with up to six concurrent streams available. The camera gimble allows for 360° pan and 90° tilt adjustment. The complete range of 1.3, 2.0, 3.0, and 5.0 megapixel sensor configurations are available, providing resolutions of up to 2592x1944 pixels. MegaDome™ H.264 cameras are available in colour only as well as day/night versions, incorporating a removable IR cut filter. Arecont Vision achieves superior low light sensitivity through the use of a 1/2" CMOS sensor.

The dome itself is a 4" vandal resistant enclosure complying with IP66 weatherproofing standards and comes with optional wall mounts and pendant brackets.

The range is available from Norbain. "The Arecont Vision range of megapixel cameras is proving to be very popular with customers," says Buzz Coates, Norbain’s branded manager, CCTV. "The success of their current range of cameras, as well as the unique and highly versatile range of 180 and 360 degree panoramic cameras, has ensured success in a number of diverse project applications and installations."
