Micropak improves security in public car parks
(29/05/2009)
The new Micropak combines zoom camera, IR lighting and barrier control into a compact weatherproof box. Most solutions use just number plate recognition but Micropak can also match vehicles profile on entry and exit in order to detect possible vehicle theft. This solution can easily be integrated into car-park equipment (ticket machine, barriers) and into access control management software greatly enhancing car security.
By providing an entirely automated subscription system, these solutions represent a considerable reduction in running costs and an improvement in security levels of public car parks. Micropak can also provide a counting system (overall or by level) of remaining spaces that is more reliable than any other system. This access control solution can easily be interfaced with other Access Control Management systems.
Micropak ANPR camera can be installed in a few minutes, thus minimising the restrictions for the car-park managers. Once installed, all of the camera settings can be remotely adjusted after which the camera parameters are stored and controlled fully automatically to provide an optimal performance regardless of the lighting conditions. Due to its extremely compact size, and flexibility in terms of angle and distance makes camera suitable for a large variety of installations. This camera can be deployed on the barrier post (plate recognition at one meter and with extreme angles).
When connected to an IP interface Micropak will read and export number plates in real time plus date, time and vehicle JPEG. Wigand and RS232 further enhance the flexibility of the system. The system is capable of reading all EU number plates and the surrounding countries.
The unit is housed in an IP67 industrial casing ensuring reliability in all conditions. Two versions are available, 10 images per second version for car parks with barriers, while the 25 images per second version is available for installations without barriers.
The Micropak enables integrators to implement complete solutions of automatic access control using number plate recognition. This type of solution is the perfect tool for companies, local councils and public authorities looking for simple and efficient control of vehicle access to their car parks, or to any site whether open or closed.
