Network Defence protects North Tyneside Council users from malicious content
(09/04/2009)
North Tyneside Council has improved network security by deploying a real-time web security solution from Network Defence, to protect over 2700 users from malicious content and safeguard its system from web-borne threats. In addition the Council has also signed up to a managed service for 3 years to improve and maintain network security.
The network-based appliance has been rolled out to protect and provide resilience against web-borne threats such as spyware, malware and trojans. The deployment is part of a rolling security programme North Tyneside is implementing to keep its users safe. Signing up to Network Defence’s managed service will also give the Council access to round-the-clock security management and technical support.
David Matthews, senior infrastructure officer for North Tyneside Council said: “We required an all inclusive all eventualities scalable solution which would proactively identify and block unknown threats to our system and networks. Network Defence proposed a solution that not only best addressed these needs, but also was the most cost-effective. We looked at several solutions but chose Network Defence as they were best for quality and for price.”
“Deployment was quick and easy, with everything implemented in just a day. Staff now feel much more confident about using the Internet and we have peace of mind that they and the network are protected. We are confident that through their managed service we can rely on Network Defence to maintain the high standard of security we require.” Continued David.
As part of the installation Network Defence assessed North Tyneside Council’s requirements and proposed a Finjan Spyware Appliance solution and implemented the Finjan NG6100 appliance.
