Panasonic has announced the launch of the BB-HCM527 and BB-HCM547 dome network cameras. Featuring an improved 73° viewing angle, SD/SDHC memory card slot and PoE power supply, it has never been easier to install or see into those hard to reach places.

Both feature packed models include the improved 73° horizontal wide-angle lens increases the field of view without having to move the camera, and remote controlled 360° pan and tilt 137° functions from either a mobile phone or PC mean even larger areas can be supervised with just one camera. 2.3x optical and 2x digital zoom provide detailed views of a zoomed in area and giving the ability to focus on specific objects whilst monitoring.

BB-HCM527For easy installation and IP configuration, the camera employs (PoE) IEEE802.3af, which supplies power and transmits images through a single cable. No separate power supply is required and connection is simple using the PoE switch or optional PoE adapter.

The outdoor ready BB-HDM547 features an IPX4 equivalent splash- resistant body that can withstand operation temperatures from -20° to +50°, expanding the scope of applications by facilitating outside installations such as in warehouse or shop eaves.

The BB-HCM527 and BB-HCM547 can help safeguard against network errors to ensure lost coverage becomes a thing of the past. When inserted into the built in slot a large number of images can be stored onto SD/HDC memory card and viewed either over the internet or straight from the card, guaranteeing coverage 24/7. To further increase security and ensure no data is corrupted the system supports SSL data encrypted communications, preventing the danger of electronic eavesdropping.

BB-HCM547By taking advantage of the audio 2-way communication feature, distance instructions are not an issue, by using the built-in microphone and a separately purchased speaker, you can talk to someone near the camera whilst monitoring from a different location.

New MOS sensors allow even night images to be viewed in colour, when the subject area darkens the camera automatically adjusts the brightness to show the image.

Analogue video output can also be utilised to integrate with existing TV or video recording equipment with the added benefit of the camera automatically switching to interlace scanning to suppress flicker in motion images.

Other core features of the cameras include supporting both MPEG-4 and JPEG video streams optimising both image quality and bandwidth efficiency, as an alternative to storing video footage, captured MJPEG images can be streamed live to a PC displaying either single or multi-camera screens. Additionally progressive scan imaging optimises image sharpness and eliminates blurring associated with interlacing.
