The Carphone Warehouse promotes bundled Kaspersky Internet Security and Mobile Security
(12/01/2009)
The Carphone Warehouse has selected Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 and Kaspersky Mobile Security for an exclusive in-store promotion. The products are available to all customers who purchase its range of mobile phones, smartphones, laptops, netbooks, broadband services and accessories at a promotional reduced price of £24.99 (RRP £59.99), from any of the 813 Carphone Warehouse stores located throughout the UK.
The Carphone Warehouse is promoting in-store and online an exclusive bundled product offer that includes Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 three-user licence and Kaspersky Mobile Security for one-user.
“One in ten people were affected by online fraud last year, with victims losing on average £875 each. Online fraud is a growing problem. To add to this, industry figures show an unprecedented growth in the number and sophistication of computer threats,” comments Graham Stapleton, Chief Commercial Officer at The Carphone Warehouse, concerning this exclusive Kaspersky Lab promotion.
“It is important for The Carphone Warehouse to take the initiative and offer to our customers, for the first time, a bundled offering comprising both smartphone protection and award-winning Internet security in one box to enable our customers to use and enjoy our products and services with peace-of-mind that they are safe from all online threats.”
Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 provides home PC and laptop users with all-in-one security for worry-free computing. The product provides complete protection from identity theft, spyware, hijacking, botnets, hacker attacks, viruses, worms, Trojans, keyloggers, rootkits, phishing, unwanted pop-up advertisements and spam. It includes a two-way firewall, parental control features - and a virtual keyboard for safer online banking.
Kaspersky Mobile Security delivers protection for information stored on smartphones in the event that the device is lost or stolen, providing award-winning protection from online threats, as well as SMS and telephone spam. The owner of the phone has the ability to secure all data and access to the device until that time that the device is recovered. In the instance of theft, all information can be remotely wiped. Additionally, should a new SIM card be entered to the smartphone, a hidden SMS will be sent informing of the details of the new SIM card to be passed to the smartphone provider and relevant authorities.
“The latest mobile phones and laptops are making it easier than ever for people to access the Internet when on the move. In fact, 7.3 million people used their mobile phone to access the Internet during April and September last year,” states Malcolm Tuck, Managing Director of Kaspersky Lab UK and Ireland. “However, the risks associated with cybercrime are growing fast and it is vitally important that every device used to access the Internet is equipped with the highest levels of protection, to provide safeguards against phishing attacks, online predators and attempts of identity theft and online fraud.”
