Xtralis has introduced a new generation of its ADPRO PRO range of external detectors. The new Xtralis ADPRO PRO detectors include the PRO 30 with a detection pattern of 30m x 20m, the PRO 40 with a detection pattern of 40m x 10m, and the longer range PRO 50 with a detection pattern of 50m x 30m.

They are suited to a wide range of perimeter protection applications, and are ideal for conditional triggering of CCTV, PTZ and dome cameras, as well as the triggering of video switchers and video transmission units for event-driven CCTV.

Common to all models is the ability to adjust sensitivity to suit conditions, and adaptive threshold circuitry that introduces an intuitive scene learning capability to reduce the number of false (or nuisance) alarms caused by moving vegetation, small animals and sudden environmental changes. All detectors are contained within a weather-proof housing and protected against dust and moisture to ensure reliable operation even in the harshest conditions.

“ADPRO is very well-known for the exceptional performance, reliability and accuracy of its long range external detectors,” explains Samir Samhouri, President and Chief Executive Officer of Xtralis. “What we have now done is take the same military specification of our existing technology and use this knowledge to develop products for commercial applications, and specifically in the detection patterns and ranges that installers are most frequently demanding.”

Common to all models also is the ability to integrate seamlessly with Xtralis ADPRO FastTrace (AFT) and FastTX remote video monitoring solutions.

The Xtralis ADPRO PRO Series are highly sensitive, standalone passive infra-red detectors designed for outdoor protection that will detect human targets by sensing temperature differences between them and the background. Due to the passive operation of the unit, the area being protected cannot be identified by the intruder, and the detectors are reliable in difficult conditions including low visibility, snow or fog.

Particularly important is the new Tamper Protection feature across the range as Hamish McKirdy, Director Sales Security EMEA continues: “All of our detectors now have a unique anti-tamper feature to give excellent system integrity. If the detector is displaced from its installed position, the detector will generate a tamper alarm that can be sensed, recorded and transmitted by the Xtralis ADPRO FastTrace and FastTx products in accordance with BS8418.

“The detectors have been revised with the installer very much in mind. The range is scaleable for use either as stand-alone units or in high security multi-detector environments, and specific equipment such as an alignment telescope, wireless installation tester and software analysis tools are available to optimise installation. Being independent of any monitoring station, we can also give best advice without compromising your customer.”

Further new developments see all models having both in-built AC and DC supply capability. High performance variants are available for use in the most extreme environments, where the highest performance and detection capabilities are paramount. A thermostatically controlled heater maintains a consistent internal temperature to provide the optimum in detection sensitivity and ensuring reliable operation even under harsh weather conditions.
