Florida State University relies on Comodo SSL technology for encryption and transmission of its data

Florida State University has decided to safeguard its computerized transactions with a secure socket layer (SSL) from Comodo CA Ltd.
Florida State University has been ranked #52 of the top universities worldwide in the 2008 Webometrics Ranking of World Universities. The ranking measures scientific communication of scholarly language. The measurement is based on formal and informal academic activity of professors and researchers as reflected by their Web presence.
Besides scholarly communications, a lot of sensitive information is transmitted in educational files: health, financial, disciplinary, and academic. With ubiquitous computers, users expect to be able to share this information rapidly. At the same time, they expect that the organizations will keep it safe from outside eyes.
"Comodo's digital certificates will help our students, faculty, alumni, and administrators communicate easily and securely," said, Joseph Lazor, FSU's Director of Information Resources Management and Security.
