Paxton’s Net2 is a networked access control system which uses a built-in infrared reader to record the number plates of approaching vehicles. Unlike other systems, an image recording device is not required as the system is linked to a pre-entered database of registered vehicle number plates. When the vehicle plate is read by the ANPR reader, the Net2 software checks the access permissions of that user and access is granted as appropriate with the access event logged by Net2 as it would be with any other token.

ADI-GARDINER (UK) has announced the distribution of Paxton’s Net2 Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) reader as part of ADI-GARDINER’s strategy to provide total security access control solutions to its customers. This first generation ANPR functions with an access control system in exactly the same way as a standard door reader.

“Paxton is a highly respected name in the access control sector and we have been working with them for many years,” said Glenn Davies, Access Control Product Manager at ADI-GARDINER. “With the Net2 access control system and its integration with the ANPR reader, we are able to offer our customers a convenient and cost effective solution to vehicle access monitoring where control over entrance is required, but recording of images is not.”

The ANPR reader is supplied with installation instructions including how to configure it with laptop PCs. Once installed, the user will be required to enter registered vehicle number plates in the system to ensure preferred vehicles are automatically allowed entry through a designated gate or barrier.

"We’ve designed the system with our customers in mind and have combined high specification equipment with a user-friendly database system which can feature up to 10,000 vehicle registration details,” said Adam Stroud, Sales Director at Paxton Access. “Our relationship with ADI-GARDINER spans 10 years and we work closely together to ensure installers and security professionals receive full product and installation support.”
