NETiP digital audio and video alarm panels integrate with Sentinel Plus
(08/12/2006)
Video Domain Technologies has announced that NETiP, a new series of digital audio and video alarm panels, has achieved full integration with Sentinel Plus, the alarm monitoring software solution.
NETiP is the end result of a $3 million development programme and offers a cost effective solution to transmitting high quality video and audio from remote CCTV cameras back to monitoring control centres. NETiP digitises analogue video and audio signals in real-time and transmits them over standard broadband connections or LAN/WAN networks without requiring a PC at the monitored premises.
There are two models available offering four or eight channels of video streams and full duplex audio. High quality video images are compressed, encoded and stored on flash memory for immediate, easy access to recorded events and event logs. NETiP also features internal high-speed high-quality pre and post-alarm image capture and can digitally store up to 100 still images.
According to Michael Askew, Managing Director of Monitor Computer Systems: “We have been working in partnership with Video Domain for four years and the company is the first to achieve fully operational live sites through our Sentinel Plus alarm monitoring solution. NETiP offers outstanding levels of functionality and will play an important role in achieving BS8418 compliance.”
Clive Mason, Managing Director of Video Domain Technology, commented that: “NETiP adds eyes to the monitoring services delivered by Sentinel Plus. It provides a complete video and audio record of every intrusion activation event, adds unrivalled levels of functionality to monitoring stations and is infinitely scaleable to meet the requirements of the largest applications.”
One of Europe’s fastest expanding retail companies has already deployed NETiP in more than 25 stores across the UK with a further 55 sites planned. Sixteen cameras are being installed at each location, all of which have been identified as being most at risk. Other major retail chains are currently evaluating the Video Domain solution and will move from the pilot to rollout stages in the near future. NETiP offers the highest level of integration with the Sentinel Plus monitoring solution and will significantly reduce theft and vandalism at retail premises.
NETiP is compatible with all brands of dome cameras and offers selectable recording and transmission image/video size, PTZ support, programmable alarm inputs and control outputs. Video Domain Technologies also provides a unique Video Integration Kit that enables full functional integration of digital CCTV into other brands of Alarm Receive and Management Software currently in use by monitoring stations.
