G4S Security Services acquires AC Controls

G4S Security Services (UK), part of Group 4 Securicor plc, has acquired AC Controls, a specialist access control and integrated security company.

The acquisition of AC Controls will enhance G4S Security Services (UK)’s electronic security offering in the UK. AC Controls develops bespoke security systems that match the specific needs of clients.

Nick Bettes, Technology Director of G4S Security Services (UK) said, “This acquisition extends our electronic security capability in the UK and underlines our strategy to provide the best possible integrated security solutions to our customers. We carefully selected AC Controls for its ability to develop and deliver leading-edge technology as well as its highly skilled staff and high service standards. Jim Patterson, Managing Director of AC Controls said, “I am delighted that AC Controls has become a Group 4 Securicor company. This is an exciting move for both organisations and will bring significant opportunities for AC Controls and our staff. We will be able to call upon the full resources of the UK’s largest security company to help us to build the business.”

Following completion of the acquisition on 5 December, G4S will begin a process to rebrand AC Controls as a Group 4 Securicor company. This process is expected to take up to 12 months.
