GoDaddy deploys SecureSphere Web Application Firewall
(14/08/2008)
GoDaddy.com, the world's largest domain name registrar, has deployed the SecureSphere Web Application Firewall (WAF), as part of its overall security measures, to protect its website and all of its Quick Shopping Cart customers. In addition, SecureSphere enabled Go Daddy to meet the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) June 30th deadline for complying with requirement 6.6, which mandates that a WAF be deployed or code review be performed to secure web applications that process payment card data.
In addition to having more than 30 million domains under management, The Go Daddy Group, Inc. offers a wide range of hosting solutions, Web site creation tools, SSL certificates, email, and e-commerce tools. The Quick Shopping Cart application enables businesses to quickly and easily create and manage ecommerce sites. These stores securely accept PayPal® and credit card payments, offer multiple shipping options and issue coupons.
"Our Quick Shopping Cart product generated more than 55 million dollars for our customers last year alone. There's no sign of slowing - in fact, online spending is predicted to grow by more than 17% in the next year according to Forrester Research. We understand the need of top level security for our customers and ourselves," said GoDaddy.com CEO and Founder Bob Parsons. "We chose Imperva SecureSphere because we believe they are the very best. Protecting our customers and keeping the Internet safe is a top priority at Go Daddy"
The SecureSphere Web Application Firewall enables businesses to efficiently maintain control over critical data, while providing secure and transparent protection for Web applications. To eliminate costly and complex manual tuning, the SecureSphere WAF uses patent pending Dynamic Profiling technology that automatically builds a model of legitimate behavior and adapts to application changes over time.
SecureSphere protects the complete application stack, from the individual application to the server and network. Imperva's Transparent Inspection technology delivers multi-gigabit performance, sub-millisecond latency and options for high availability that meet the most demanding data center requirements. For large scale deployments, the SecureSphere MX Management Server centralizes and streamlines configuration, monitoring, and reporting across multiple appliances.
"The SecureSphere Web Application Firewall was designed to meet the requirements of the largest and most demanding environments on the Web, like GoDaddycom," said Shlomo Kramer, president and CEO of Imperva. "The decision by GoDaddy.com to deploy Imperva is a powerful endorsement for the robustness of our platform in terms of both security and scalability. Protecting GoDaddy.com and its tens of thousands of Quick Shopping Cart customers is a proud achievement for Imperva."
