Lynx Technologies has announced that a new mobile solution has been implemented in its software product VECTA ACS. VECTA is a universal integrated software solution with access control, burglar and fire monitoring, CCTV and building management subsystems.

The VECTA suite includes main applications for configuring, alarm monitoring, report generation as well as specialized solutions for Badge printing, Time & Attendance and third party integration tools such as SDK and automation subsystem. It has build-in support of well known hardware manufactures: HID Global and Apollo Inc.

The new mobile solution integrates mobile hand held devices to VECTA and supports two main modes:
• Identification mode is intended for reviewing cardholder attributes by card presenting to a handheld device with a build-in reader
• Mobile Pass Point mode - for additional gateways organizing in facilities which are not required to be equipped with stationary readers.

Identification mode is useful for selective control of cardholders in a secure area and allows retrieving all information about a person from the VECTA database by card presenting. This mode helps to validate card owner by comparing with a photo from database and also reveal trespassers or persons who do not have enough permission for staying in a secure area.

In Mobile Pass Point mode, the handheld device with build-in reader works like an ordinary access control reader; whereas a duty guard plays a role of a restricting access device like a turnstile or a door. When a card is presented PDA software sends a request to VECTA Server. VECTA Server replies either access is granted or denied; and the duty guard can see this decision on the screen of PDA as well as all cardholder's attributes including photo from VECTA database.

VECTA mobile solution supports PDA with build-in HID iClass reader. Wi-Fi communication method is used for establishing connection between PDA and VECTA Mobile Pass Point Service. For Mobile Pass Point mode, Apollo AAN-100 or AAN-32 controller is also needed.

Due to seamless integration with Apollo hardware all the features like 6 access levels per card, precision access; exclusion list could be used for mobile reader. Moreover, in Mobile Pass Point mode, access events are registered in the VECTA database and can be reviewed later in the Report Generation application or accounted in the Time & Attendance application.

VECTA mobile solution allows organizing additional pass points in the case of huge or extra traffic flow or in the facilities which are not equipped or are not required to be equipped with stationary readers.

As mobile pass points can be rapidly and easily arranged, VECTA mobile solution has wide range of application not only for additional access control in secure facilities but also during special short-term events such as sports events, concerts and exhibitions.
