Fire and Security Association exceeds its membership target
(08/07/2008)
The Fire and Security Association (FSA) has announced that it has already exceeded its planned 2008 end of year target of two hundred and fifty member companies.
Following a successful presence at IFSEC 2008, and a general, and ongoing, increase in membership enquiries, the association now represents two hundred and sixty eight member companies who operate out of two hundred and ninety seven locations across the United Kingdom.
Head of the FSA, Stefan Hay said: “ We are naturally elated by the fact that the FSA has become such a thriving organisation in only eighteen months. The marketplace in which our membership is operating has become so much more than just alarms. Now it’s about a robust, high-tech world of integrated systems and IP networked solutions and we are pleased that so many more professional systems companies are working under the FSA banner to grasp the opportunities on offer and make the environments in which we live and work safer.”
The FSA believes that its success can be attributed to the fact that it is solely systems sector focussed and truly driven by its members through an industry led Board and Technical Committee structure.
Stefan Hay commented further: “At a time where certain technology based solutions, such as CCTV systems, have received very undeserved bad press, we are keen to demonstrate that our third party certificated companies with design, installation, commissioning and maintenance capabilities can offer a tangible difference to end-users and we will be doing our utmost to promote the quality and range of services they have available.”
FSA membership is open to companies that have third party certification from the NSI or SSAIB for security systems installation and / or hold BAFE SP203 or LPS 1014 for fire installation.
