J.U.S.T launches forum dedicated to event professionals
(06/06/2008)
The Joint Union of Specialist Training has launched a new forum dedicated to event professionals. Unlike most forums all new users are required to submit their details for verification, after visiting a number of so called specialist forums the company found that anybody was allowed to join and no vetting took place, this made them a free for all, and subjected the users to applications for work opportunities and a continuous bombardment of posts and emails offering services.
The new Industry Forum launched by J.U.S.T will not allow the promotion of any company or individual, it has been designed to raise standards within the industry, allowing all music, entertainment and event professionals to share their views & experiences, discuss sector related topics and keep up to date on current legislation within a controlled environment.
After spending almost a decade within the event industry Julie Quinton aged 36, became the Managing Director for the Joint Union of Specialist Training in Feb 2008. Her aim was to raise standards within the event security sector this has been done by developing and delivering new training courses designed purely for the music & entertainments industry.
Julie Quinton hopes that the forum will become a powerful tool for event organisers and event service providers, allowing them to speak freely and put any questions or comments to other members. Current members include H&S Officers, Event Security Providers, Production & Stage Managers, Event Promoters and other professional individuals & companies.
Anybody wishing to join the forum should submit their application by visiting www.ju-st.co.uk and clicking the Industry Forum link on the home page.
