Advanced ID technologies for retailers
(07/05/2008)
Databac Group will demonstrate at Retail Solutions 2008 how advanced ID technologies can be applied affordably for loyalty, visitor and time & attendance applications.
During the show (24-26 June, ExCeL, London), Databac will launch two new solutions: the Dataimage Kiosk visitor station and the Loyca card-driven loyalty system. TOUGH card will be shown as the perfect green loyalty card, while the Rimax Staff On Time range of time & attendance systems will demonstrate how biometric and contactless chip technologies are secure and affordable propositions for retailers of all sizes.
Databac's new Dataimage Kiosk is a freestanding, plug-and-play reception terminal which allows visitors to check in simply and easily. Fitted with a touch screen, high-spec PC and Dataimage visitor software, this terminal will be shown in operation with a rewritable plastic card printer and Data ReWrite cards, developed and manufactured by Databac. This innovative application enables smart-looking plastic visitor passes to be branded in full colour, then printed and reprinted for each new visitor up to 500 times.
Making its debut in the UK, Loyca is a card-based loyalty solution for retailers of all sizes. Unique in its flexibility, Loyca is a platform-independent system, which enables operators to respond to marketing information in real time, by implementing on-the-spot changes to their loyalty schemes.
For eco-friendly loyalty cards, Databac will be personalising TOUGH card, its recyclable polyester card, using Fargo's High Definition printer, the HDP5000.
As exclusive UK distributor, Databac will also demonstrate the new client/server version of Rimax Staff On Time, a top-end biometric time & attendance solution aimed at large retailers who need to track staff attendance at stores nationwide or internationally from a central location. Features include web-based access, secure backups via a special USB memory stick and fingerprint verification. The control unit can be programmed to function as a switch to operate locks, alarms, lights and other electronic systems, activated by authorised fingerprint.
The entry-level Staff On Time Retail RFID presents a genuinely low-cost solution for time & attendance for retailers and businesses of up to 2,100 employees. Users 'punch' in and out by holding a contactless smart card up to the reader - simple, effective and secure, and priced from just £149 RRP (189), complete with software and 20 cards. Staff On Time Retail RFID will be available to visitors to buy from the stand.
Databac's full range of branded cards and card accessories, currently in use at stores worldwide, will also be on display.
