PINoptic has announced the launch of its first market specific product for the mobile market – PINoptic Mobile. PINoptic Mobile is a visual probabilistic one time password authentication security solution that provides scaleable levels of security across a wide range of applications to deliver true mobile security.

PINoptic Mobile provides a secure alternative to PINs and passwords using images or symbols in conjunction with existing mobile device keypads.

Applications include:

Key benefits of PINoptic Mobile include:
- No additional hardware needed by the user making it more convenient to use whilst on the move than token based systems whilst providing similar levels of security;
- Scaleable. PINoptic Mobile can be configured to provide different levels of security for different functions – from one symbol required for low security applications e.g. handset lock or making a local call, to five symbols for military grade security e.g. access to corporate network, or as many symbols as you require;
- Pre-packaged PINoptic symbol-sets scale well for different screen resolutions and support a ubiquitous solution which users can use on many different systems. Alternatively, new symbol or image sets can be designed for uniqueness or branding purposes;
- PINoptic research shows that the majority of users are able to remember images better than numbers reducing support service calls and requests;
- Reduces risks from user laziness for example using the same password for multiple purposes as the same symbol set will still provide a one-time password each time it is used.
