Engate Technology Corporation has announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with Computer Geeks. Under the agreement, Computer Geeks will market and support Engate’s network profiling anti-spam products for service providers, enterprises and businesses.

“We’re pleased to partner with Engate and provide our customers with superior email security solutions that will affordably protect their information technology assets from established and new threats,” said Parker Ledbetter, president and CEO, Computer Geeks, Inc. “We performed a detailed evaluation of many leading anti-spam solutions, and Engate was the best choice in delivering superior accuracy with the lowest rate of false positives. Our customers now benefit from Engate’s proactive protection and all the productivity and IT cost savings that are generated from their network layer spam interdiction.”

"Computer Geeks is a highly regarded reseller known for delivering quality IT security solutions," said Wil Cochran, president and CEO, Engate. “Being selected by Computer Geeks is a strong validation of the value we bring to resellers from both an innovation and channel support perspective. We are committed to providing our partners with superior anti-spam technology and will continue to foster our channel program with the best products and resources that will position our partners for success.”

Powered by Engate™, Computer Geeks offers both an appliance-based and hosted anti-spam solution that has proven effective in stopping over 99 percent of spam outside of the customer’s network – before the message is transmitted to the email gateway. This connection-level protection delivers immediate savings in capital and operating costs as a result of reduced bandwidth, storage and CPU cycles. Moreover, blocking spam at the network level improves employee and IT productivity by significantly reducing the time wasted dealing with spam, false positives, malicious attacks and phish scams.

Computer Geeks leverages Engate’s intelligent GlobalRules™ technology which uniquely profiles entire offending networks and provides immediate detection of compromised hosts and botnets. The technology blocks established and new threats before they get inside the customer’s network and compromise IT resources, slow down network performance, crash servers and invade privacy. As a result, eliminating high volumes of spam at the connection layer enable organizations to increase the throughput and latency of their messaging systems as much as ten-fold. Engate’s proprietary rules operate in real-time and cannot be forged or adapted by a spammer's present and future tactics, protecting customers from new and ever-changing spam techniques with virtually no false positives.
