TAC all-in-one building automation controller combines building control, web functionality and alarm handling
(23/01/2008)
With inefficient equipment costing companies millions of pounds per year, building operators are demanding more reliable and cost effective ways to control and maintain efficient building performance.
TAC is launching the Xenta 700 that has everything needed to improve building performance by creating an efficient working environment and reducing operating costs. This all-in-one IP based building automation controller combines building control, web functionality, alarm handling and superior graphics all in a powerful compact package that can be accessed remotely over the internet.
The controller sits directly on a buildings existing Ethernet network, reducing the need for additional software and more importantly, additional costs. Using an embedded web server, access and monitoring is achieved via standard web browsers from anywhere at anytime while the intuitive graphical display requires minimal training ensuring that there is little impact on the routine of the business. The Xenta 700 is not only capable of directly controlling heating and lighting systems but also integrating seamlessly with security and access control systems in addition to third party products including intelligent energy meters via onboard open interfaces.
The Xenta 700, part of the TAC Vista family, is based on a totally open architecture, thus giving customers freedom of choice in selecting products from a wide range of suppliers and yielding true vendor independence. TAC Vista runs on Microsoft® Windows® with standard LAN communication on Ethernet® or fibre optics using TCP/IP and standard network equipment. Field bus communication features the open LonWorks® technology, which is used by more than 3,000 vendors worldwide.
Simon Ward, Products Director from TAC, commented: “Businesses are now accountable for their building’s performance, so wasted energy is wasted money. With this in mind, TAC has launched the Xenta 700 that is designed to address BMS needs of companies of all sizes and cut building costs.”
Simon Ward concluded: “Building management systems, which has previously been the domain for larger companies, can bring long-term savings to any business. The Xenta 700 allows for the easy management of all building functions, in the smallest office to the largest commercial complex. Whilst smaller companies may think that there isn’t the budget for installing BMS, by offsetting the initial cost against future savings, it is proving to be a popular choice”.
