(19/02/2008)
Tag Guard Ltd has announced the acquisition of its own Dutch Distributor, Betaguard BV. Following the merger, the company expects turnover in excess of £5 million in the next financial year with significant growth anticipated in the next 3 years.
Betaguard BV, based in Hengelo, was founded in 1999 by business partners Martin Berends and Rutger Tan. The company has been Tag Guard’s Dutch distributor for over 6 years, building a successful business marketing Tag Guard’s wireless security products and technology, not just in Holland but to customers in other European countries too.
Commenting on the merger, Richard Lang, Managing Director of Tag Guard Ltd, said, “The managements of both companies are very excited about the merger and the opportunities it will provide for greater market penetration and growth in new areas, especially mainland Europe.
“The Betaguard senior management bring valuable skills to the group and we believe that the increased support Tag Guard can now give Betaguard will facilitate rapid growth in the years to come. In addition to strengthening the management and operational base, the merger will lead to economies of scale and provides the foundation to realise our objective of becoming a major force in the European market for wireless security equipment and technology.
“Tag Guard has been growing very successfully in the UK in recent years and has products and services to offer export markets that have not, to date, been offered through Betaguard; now we have the perfect opportunity for our colleagues in Holland to offer wireless CCTV, vehicle tracking and additional services in their domestic market and beyond”.
